Before and after your appointment

Dr Azoo goes through this with you at your consultation. These points are a reminder, and he will adjust them to you.

Before your appointment

  • Tell Dr Azoo about your medicines, allergies, and whether you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or unwell.
  • Avoid alcohol for 24 hours beforehand.
  • Do not take aspirin or ibuprofen unless a doctor has prescribed it for you. Do not stop a prescribed medicine on your own.
  • Come without make-up on the area if you can, or be ready for it to be cleaned.
  • Plan around events. Mild swelling can last one to three days.

Aftercare

  • Small bumps or puffiness for a day, occasionally up to three, is normal.
  • Leave make-up off the area for 24 hours.
  • Avoid strenuous exercise, saunas, steam rooms and swimming for 24 hours.
  • Do not massage or press the area unless Dr Azoo has asked you to.
  • Do not rub the under-eye area.
  • Contact the clinic promptly if pain is increasing, the skin changes colour, or anything worries you.

Common questions

Which treatment do I need?

Hollowing usually needs a soft filler; dark circles and crepey skin respond better to NCTF or polynucleotides. Dr Azoo decides at consultation.

Is there downtime?

Usually minimal. You may have small bumps or swelling for a day, occasionally up to three.

How many sessions?

Filler is usually one session. NCTF is a course of three, then maintenance every six months.

About under-eye treatment at Dr Azoo

The under-eye is the most delicate area of the face, and the right treatment depends on what is causing the tired look: volume loss, thin skin, pigmentation or a combination.

Dr Azoo uses soft tear trough fillers for hollowing and Fillmed NCTF 135HA, a revitalising solution of hyaluronic acid, vitamins and amino acids, for dark circles and fine lines.
