This policy explains how Dr Azoo Cosmetic Clinic (“we”, “us”, “the clinic”) uses personal information when you visit this website, contact us or become a patient. We are the data controller for the information described here.

Who we are and how to contact us

What we collect

  • When you contact us or request a consultation: your name, email address, phone number and the message you send. If you choose to tell us about your health or the treatment you are interested in, we record that too.
  • When you become a patient: your medical history, consultation and treatment notes, consent forms, the products used, and photographs taken for your clinical record. This is health information, which is a special category of personal data.
  • Payments: we keep a record of what you paid and when. Card details are handled by the payment provider and are not stored by us.
  • When you use this website: technical information such as your IP address, browser, device and the pages you view, collected through cookies and similar technologies (see below).
  • When you message us on WhatsApp, phone or email: your contact details and the content of the conversation.

Why we use it, and our legal basis

  • To reply to your enquiry and arrange a consultation (steps you ask us to take, and our legitimate interest in answering enquiries).
  • To assess you, treat you safely and keep proper medical records (providing healthcare, with your explicit consent where required, and our professional and legal obligations as a doctor).
  • To follow up after treatment and check on your results (providing healthcare, and your agreement to a review).
  • To manage appointments, payments and our accounts (contract and legal obligation).
  • To understand how the website is used and improve it (consent for analytics cookies where required, and our legitimate interest in running a good website).

Photographs

Clinical photographs are part of your medical record and are used only for your care. We use before and after photographs on this website, in print or on social media only with your separate, written consent. You can withdraw that consent at any time and we will remove the photographs from our own channels.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only where needed, with:

  • other healthcare professionals involved in your care, such as your GP, if you ask us to or if it is needed for your safety;
  • service providers that help us run the clinic and website, such as our website host, email, appointment and payment providers, and analytics services, who act on our instructions;
  • our professional indemnity provider, regulators or the courts, where we are required or permitted by law.

Some of these providers are based outside the UK. Where that is the case we rely on appropriate safeguards, such as an adequacy decision or approved contractual terms.

How long we keep it

Enquiries that do not lead to treatment are deleted after a reasonable period. Medical records are kept for as long as professional guidance for doctors requires, and then securely destroyed. Accounting records are kept for the period required by law.

Cookies

This website uses cookies that are needed for it to work, and analytics cookies (such as Google Analytics) that help us see which pages are useful. Analytics cookies are not used to identify you personally. You can control or delete cookies in your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google’s browser add-on. Our chat widget and embedded content from other sites, such as maps or videos, may set their own cookies.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you have the right to:

  • ask for a copy of the information we hold about you;
  • ask us to correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
  • ask us to delete information, although we cannot delete medical records we are required to keep;
  • ask us to restrict or object to certain uses of your information;
  • withdraw consent at any time, where we rely on it;
  • ask for your information in a portable format, where this applies.

To use any of these rights, email contact@drazoo.com. We will reply within one month.

Complaints

If you are unhappy with how we have used your information, please tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office at ico.org.uk or on 0303 123 1113.
